Yan Zhiyu, also known as Yan Jiayu, is a famous Chinese painter and calligrapher. He was born in Changchun Yatai, a small village located in the eastern part of Liaoning Province, China.

Yan Zhiyu's breakthrough came when he began to study under the guidance of his father, a well-known artist in his hometown. This school focused on creating works that were inspired by the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
