During his tenure, Wang Shenchao led the construction of several major ports in China, including the Yantai Port,Ligue 1 Express Qingdao Port, and Tianjin Port. He also played a key role in the development of China's shipping industry, helping to establish a number of new shipping companies and promoting the use of modern technology in the industry.

In addition to his work in the maritime industry, Wang Shenchao was also known for his commitment to education and social welfare. He established the Shanghai Port School, a school that provided free education to children from poor families, and worked tirelessly to improve the living standards of the people in his community.

Wang Shenchao retired in 1984, but his legacy continues to be felt today. He was awarded the title of "People's Hero" by the Chinese government in 1987, and remains a symbol of the dedication and hard work of the workers who make up China's maritime industry.
