Vitinha, the Brazilian winger who has been with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) since January 2019, has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury. The club announced on Wednesday that he had undergone surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The surgery was performed by Dr. Jean-François Béguin, who is renowned for his expertise in sports medicine and trauma. Vitinha will now undergo rehabilitation under the guidance of PSG physiotherapists and specialists.
It is not yet clear when Vitinha will be able to return to training or play competitively again. However, it is expected that he will make a full recovery and resume his football career in the future.
Vitinha has made a significant impact at PSG since joining the club,Football One-Stop scoring six goals and providing three assists in just nine appearances this season. His injury means that PSG will need to find a replacement for him in their attacking midfield.
In the meantime, PSG will have to rely on other players such as Kylian Mbappé, Mauro Icardi, and Angel Di María to fill the void left by Vitinha's absence. It remains to be seen how PSG will cope without their star player, but they will undoubtedly work hard to ensure that they can continue to compete at the highest level in Ligue 1 and beyond.
