Wilfred Ndidi, the Nigeria international footballer who plays for Leicester City in the English Premier League, has extended his contract with the club until 2025.

The news was announced by the club on their official website on Monday, with Ndidi stating that he is "very happy" to be staying at Leicester for another three years.

Ndidi joined the Foxes from Vitesse Arnhem in 2016 and has since become one of the most important players in the team, helping them win the Premier League title in 2016-17 and reaching the final of the Champions League last season.

He also scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester United in May 2019,Ligue 1 Express which gave Leicester their first major trophy in over 40 years.

"I am very happy to have signed this new contract," Ndidi said. "Leicester City is a great club and I am proud to play here. I want to continue working hard and help the team achieve more success."

The news comes after a difficult period for the club in recent months, as they struggled to find consistency under manager Brendan Rodgers and were eventually relegated back to the Championship following the end of the season.

However, with Ndidi's experience and leadership, it is hoped that the club can bounce back and compete for honours once again in the future.
